DENTAL IMPLANTS

The dental implant is called an endosseous implant or component.
Dental implants are alternative dental roots. It's generally made up
of titanium, which is commonly used for dentistry. Your dentist
has surgery on the jaw bone underneath the gum line, which
allows for replacement teeth or a bridge to be inserted into the
area.

How its Working?
During the consultation and planning phase, the dentist will inspect
the site of the mouth, where the dental implant is considered, and
also a dental imaging study. At that time the size and specificity
of the jaw bone are evaluated. After this assessment the desired
implant location was fixed and the patient was ready for the

Initial stage consist of tooth implant preparation, it requires tooth
extraction. Often, the "alveolar bone graft is deposited to achieve
the solid foundation of bone. The site will be permitted to heal in
two to a maximum of six months.

In some cases, when there is enough bone, only the damaged
teeth need to be extracted and the implant procedure can be
performed at the same junction. This kind of placement is known
as “instant implantation”.The healing time depends on the quality
of the bone. The healing time is usually from two to six months.
During this healing time, implant is mingled with the bone.

Follow-up visits to verify the surgical site are usually performed to
ensure that there is no infection and that treatment is ongoing.
At the end of healing period, the implant is checked to see if it
has been successfully picked up by the bone surrounding it.

Once this is confirmed, prosthetic component is attached to the
Dental implant through a screw. This section is called as “abutment”.
This will help you to have a replacement tooth. The dentist checkout
this abutment in the mouth and hold the implant crown in place.
The implant crown is cemented or secured with the screw. That
is the main concept of Dental Implants in Chennai.

TYPES:
Dental implants are done through two major techniques. They are,
1.Endosteal
2.Subperiosteal

1.Endosteal:
Endosteal implants is deposited in jawbone. Usually made up
of titanium and adapt like small screw. These are most commonly
used implant type. Once the surrounding gingival tissue is healed,
a second operation is required to attach the posterior implant to the
original implant. Finally, a synthetic tooth (or teeth) is individually
attached to the latter, or anchored to a bridge or tooth.
2.Subperiosteal:
Subperiosteal implants are deposited below the gum, but in the
jaw bone or above. They have a metal frame that is attached to
the jaw bone below the gingival tissue. When the gums heal, the
frame is fixed to the jaw bone. Posts attached to the frame extend
through the gums.
